About Me

Jamie is a qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychologies (BABCP). He has extensive knowledge on providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and specialises in anxiety, addictions, Trauma and Pain management. Jamie has had significant experience working in NHS secondary mental healthcare with Complex Care Community Mental Health Treatment.

Jamie has a particular interest in working with clients experiencing Anxiety and Depression, Low Self-esteem/ or lacking confidence, Alcohol and Drug Misuse, and other forms of Addictions, Gambling, Eating Disorders, supporting clients with employment/work problems, and student mental health problems.

Over the last five years Jamie has been building his own private CBT Practice and he has successfully worked with a diverse range of different clients experiencing anxiety, mood and substance misuse problems. As a result of opening his own practise it has allowed him to support clients to reduce emotional distress, achieve change, and move beyond their problems.

Jamie is able to offer clients the opportunity to integrate other evidence based models of psychotherapy within CBT dependent on your current difficulties. These can include: Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT).

Outside of his general day to day practise Jamie supports the country’s most leading anxiety disorders organisation, Anxiety UK. He is an approved CBT therapist at this organisation and he has been for the last 8 years.

Jamie has a wealth of experience with over twenty years’ clinical practice experience working within primary and secondary mental healthcare settings. His extensive experience is a result of his ability to continuously train and educate himself, some of his training and qualification includes:

• MA Social Work Studies (Distinction)
• National Occupational Qualification in Youth Worker – JNC Level 2
• BA (Hons) Youth & Community Work
• Qualified Social Work Practice Teacher -
• Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work (CEETSW)
• Qualified EMDR Psychotherapist with the EMDR Association UK, Ireland & EuropeI am a qualified Schema Focused Psychotherapist and Compassion Focused Psychotherapist.
• Qualified and registered social worker with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC: SW92275)

In order for Jaime to maintain his professional registration, he is required to work within the ethical and professional standards of the HCPC and BABCP, including attending Continuing Professional Development (CPD), in order to provide effective evidence based interventions. Throughout the past twenty years he has attended a considerable amount of training and continuing Professional Development courses which he is able to integrate into his clinical practice with clients and provide bespoke individualised, evidence based psychological interventions
