What is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy EMDR?

EMDR is a brief, effective, integrative psychotherapy approach, evidence- based treatment recognised by the NHS and National institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of chronic PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), but is now used for the treatment of other emotional disorders. Such as:

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Chronic Pain
Generalised Anxiety
Panic Attacks
Social Anxiety/Social Phobia
Obsessive Compulsive Disorders
Health Anxiety (and unspecific medical symptoms)
