Your GP

Please immediately contact your GP if you are beginning to feel unsafe and at risk of suicide, or is an emergency please call 112 (in the UK) or go to your nearest Hospital, Accident & Emergency Department.

Nearest A&E

Alternatively, if you feel unsafe, or if in immediate urgent crisis, please immediately call 999 or immediately attend your nearest Accident and Emergency and ask for a crisis mental health assessment.

The Sanctuary (0300 003 7029)

Operates a 24-hour service available every day of the year, for people who are struggling to cope – experiencing depression, anxiety, panic attacks or in crisis. This service is available for people who live in the Manchester area.

Following a conversation with trained staff, people will then be offered telephone support or they will be invited to go to The Sanctuary for one-to-one support overnight, between 8pm – 6am.

Manchester Crisis Point (Turning Point)

This is a short term residential mental health service for people suffering mental distress aged 18 and over and living in Manchester. Please contact the service on 0161 238 5149 for more information.

Recovery Lounge Manchester (Turning Point)

The recovery lounge is a safe space in Manchester city centre for those experiencing a mental health crisis. It is staffed by a mixture of recovery workers and peer support workers who can provide individual tailored emotional support, strengths based problem solving and signposting for local services.
The lounge is open 7 nights a week, from 7 pm – 1 am on weekdays and from 3 pm – 1 am on weekends.
If you would like to attend, please call staff on 0161 238 5249 between 12 noon and 1 am, who can arrange your attendance.
